One calm parent app to keep your child’s iPhone healthy — set app limits, a bedtime window and one-tap blocks, talk to them any time, and see the status of every paired phone. Here’s the full picture, including the bits Apple won’t let us do.
App limits by category
Allow or block whole categories at once — Social, Games, Video, Entertainment, Web, and Messaging. One quick setup on their phone tells Safeinest which apps count as what; tick the whole category row there and new apps are covered as they’re installed.
Bedtime lock
Set the hours apps should rest, for example 9 PM to 7 AM. Their phone applies the window as soon as it next checks in. Safeinest doesn’t run a background timer yet — iPhone offers a way and we haven’t built it — so we say that plainly rather than pretend otherwise. A Screen Time passcode is what makes it hold.
Block now
Pause the apps you cover in one tap, usually within seconds. If their phone is off, offline or the app was force-quit, the pause lands the moment it’s back in touch.
School hours
Choose which kinds of apps pause on school days, and on which days. Like bedtime, their phone applies this when Safeinest Kids next runs.
Focus presets
Homework, Dinner or Sleep — one tap starts a timed session, usually within seconds. When the time is up, the apps come back as soon as their phone checks in again.
Timed block
Pause apps for 30 minutes, 1, 2 or 5 hours. The pause lifts when their phone next checks in after the timer ends, so a timer can run a little long, never short.
Extra time, on request
Your child asks for more minutes and says why. One tap approves it, and every limit lifts for exactly that long — on their phone within seconds.
Message your child
A calm two-way family chat, with a notification on both phones. It keeps working even when everything else is paused, so your child can always reach you — and you them.
Voice calls
Call your child from inside Safeinest, and they can call you — with a proper ringing screen on both phones. Calls go directly between the two phones, encrypted end to end. We never record them, and we keep no call history.
Family SOS
One button on your child’s phone alerts every parent phone straight away and leaves a permanent line in the family chat, so it isn’t lost if a notification is missed. It calls your family, not the emergency services.
Live location
Switch it on for a child and see where their phone is, how fresh the position is and how accurate, with an “Open in Maps” button. Off by default, the child’s phone asks permission once, and we keep only the latest position — never a history of where they’ve been.
Safe zones
Draw a circle around school, home or a grandparent’s house and get a message when your child arrives or leaves. Needs live location switched on for that child.
Always-allowed apps
Apps like Phone and Maps keep working through a block. Chosen on your child’s phone — and if that list grows, we tell you.
Tamper alerts
We tell you if Screen Time is switched off, if the covered-app list shrinks, if more apps are set to always-allowed, if a phone is disconnected or asks to remove the app, or if a phone has gone quiet for two days.
Lock app removal (honest)
Record that you don’t want the app removed: their phone hides the Disconnect button and shows a “please ask first” message, and it can’t unlink itself without your approval. On iPhone no app can stop its own deletion — a Screen Time passcode you set is what truly prevents it, and we tell you exactly how.
Device status at a glance
See each paired phone in the Devices tab — when it last checked in, whether Screen Time is still switched on, and how many apps are covered. Every figure is what their phone last reported, so you can see how fresh it is.

Uses Apple’s Family Controls under the hood, so limits are enforced by iOS itself — no risky workarounds.
Private by design
An age instead of a birthday, an alias instead of a name, encryption at rest, and no ads or data selling. Built around the UK Children’s Code.
Safety alerts (Android, coming)
Safeinest sends no message-based safety alerts today, on any phone. On iPhone it never can — Apple gives no app access to another app’s messages. If we bring this to Android, you’d see only a short, redacted preview with UK helplines, never a full conversation.
And the things no iPhone app can do
We would rather you knew these before you install than after you pay.
- Read your child’s messages, browsing or photos. Apple does not allow it, and we do not try. Anyone claiming otherwise is misleading you.
- Show how long each app was used. Apple keeps those figures on the child’s own device. No parental-control app can put “Games: 1h 40m” on your phone.
- Start a bedtime on the dot — yet. This one is our gap, not Apple’s: iPhone offers a way to run a schedule and we have not built it. For now bedtime, school hours, timed blocks and focus sessions are checked by the child’s phone itself, so they start and finish at its next check-in. Block now, focus and extra time reach a closed phone within seconds by a silent message from us.
- Stop the app being deleted. iPhone gives no app that power. If Safeinest Kids is removed, we tell you the phone has gone quiet — and a Screen Time passcode is what genuinely prevents deletion.
- Keep a history. Live location keeps only the latest position, calls are never recorded and there is no call log, and alerts arrive as notifications rather than a timeline you can scroll.
